Job Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Public Relations and Communications Officer to enhance our brand image, manage media relations, and develop effective communication strategies. The ideal candidate will oversee both internal and external communications, ensuring alignment with the company’s goals and objectives. The role involves managing social media, drafting press releases, and coordinating public relations activities to enhance our reputation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Media Relations: Build and maintain relationships with journalists, media outlets, and influencers. Serve as the point of contact for all media inquiries and manage the press office.
- Content Creation: Write, edit, and distribute press releases, speeches, articles, and other PR materials to promote our brand and key messages.
- Internal Communications: Coordinate internal communications efforts to ensure that employees are informed and engaged with company initiatives and goals.
- Brand Management: Ensure that all communications are consistent with the company’s brand voice and values.
- Social Media Management: Develop and implement social media strategies across various platforms. Monitor social media channels and respond to customer inquiries or comments.
- Event Planning: Organize and manage promotional events, press conferences, and other public appearances. Collaborate with marketing to ensure the success of campaigns.
- Crisis Management: Assist in managing crisis communications, ensuring the company’s reputation is maintained and the public receives accurate information during critical times.
- Media Monitoring: Track media coverage and industry trends. Prepare media reports and analyze the effectiveness of PR campaigns.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the public, media, partners, and governmental organizations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
- Proven experience in public relations, corporate communications, or a similar role.
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines.
- Proficiency with social media platforms, media monitoring tools, and content management systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Experience in media relations and crisis communication is a plus.
- Knowledge of SEO and web traffic metrics is beneficial.
