Job Title: Finance Manager
Location: Buea
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) or Director of Finance
Job Summary:
The Finance Manager will oversee the financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate will be skilled in financial planning and analysis, forecasting, and decision-making to drive the company’s financial success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Ensure timely submission of financial statements, balance sheets, and profit/loss statements.
- Analyze financial performance and make recommendations for improvements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Develop and manage the company’s annual budget.
- Create financial forecasts, track variances, and implement corrective measures as needed.
- Advise senior management on the financial impact of business decisions.
- Cash Flow Management:
- Monitor and manage the company’s cash flow to ensure sufficient funds for operations.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.
- Risk Management:
- Identify financial risks and ensure adequate internal controls are in place.
- Maintain compliance with financial regulations and standards, including tax filings.
- Strategic Planning:
- Work with senior management to formulate financial strategies that align with company goals.
- Provide insights into financial data and performance to support long-term planning.
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor finance department staff.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide training opportunities to enhance team skills.
- Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations.
- Liaise with external auditors during annual audits.
Requirements:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- MBA or Master’s degree in Finance is a plus.
- Experience:
- Proven experience as a Finance Manager or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting principles.
- Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in financial management software (e.g. QuickBooks, Excel).
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Certifications:
- Professional certifications like CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) are preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily office-based with occasional travel to supplier sites or industry events.
- Flexible working hours may be required depending on project timelines.
